Emergency Covid 19 Family Support from Purple Elephant

Purple Elephant thank you for helping to support local, vulnerable families. Together with Fair Frome and local schools, we are giving away creative resources, toys and games to families already under financial pressures and struggling to find positive things to do – to avoid spiralling into crisis. The ‘pressure cooker’, as parents look to keep little ones entertained and offer some peace for older children, can be hard to handle so thank you for giving so generously to both our emergency support appeal (links below) for creative play material ‘craft packs’ and for buying gift/toys through our Amazon ‘wish list’ (link below ) from £2.35 to £25 (directly delivered to our office).

Free craft packs and toys are available to vulnerable families in receipt of certain benefits, those who are being supported by Fair Frome or to those collecting free meals from their schools.  Purple Elephant Productions are taking referrals from social workers, housing associations and through RAISE who can make direct contact with us, on behalf of families, via the email on this website.

Unfortunately during this difficult time our services are not universal but we look forward to the end of lockdown and to becoming a service for ALL Frome families again. Until that time please feel free to join us and enjoy some of the following creative ACTIVITY IDEAS FOR ALL  (click link) which we hope will bring a lot of fun into your homes.
We are updating the page with new ideas all the time – take a look at the link above.

Send us your pictures (via FB or email) of your creations and we’ll post them on our social media

Hello! Welcome to our world of fun! Here at the Children’s Festival we firmly believe that children should be given every opportunity to play, learn and have fun. Look around our website to discover what we offer children and their families.

Purple Elephant Productions Covid 19 PR 18.3.20

Having carefully considered Government advice about the Corona (Covid 19) outbreak and in order to help keep our local community safe we will be suspending some of our current projects. This will mean that:

  • Toy Library stay and play sessions will not run from Tuesday 24th March until further notice,
  • We will not be running Family Holiday Fun sessions during the Easter or May school holidays.

We’re very aware that many families will be challenged over the next few weeks and we’ll be working with other local organisations to find alternative ways to support those most in need. Do keep an eye out on social media for details of alternative family support available.

This is a challenging and worrying time for us all – a time when we, as a community, need to support each other as best we can. As an organisation we will be doing our utmost to help support those in need. Look after yourself and those around you.
